Freedom of information requests FAO c/o Surrey Council CEO Joanna Killian

Please assist in providing guidance and appropriate information on the following (formal freedom of information requests)

1.    The role of the school in securing the right and timely support for children with educational and specific needs.

2.    The extent to which that educational support should fit the moral, ethical and statutory standard.

3.    The extent to which pupils from historically disadvantaged backgrounds such as in particular black boys, must be treated equally, included and fully supported with resources.

4.    The extent to which children with specific speech, communicative and language delays should have access to appropriate support professionals.

5.    The extent to which the school must consider the diversity in its learning and staffing environment consistent with the community.

6.    The extent to which the school must be transparent, inclusive and meaningfully responsive to reasonable requests from a child’s parents for the collegial support of the child’s learning.

7.    The extent to which a speech and language therapist can make a medical diagnosis of a child as opposed to a paediatrician.

8.    The extent to which especially in the absence of meaningful support, a SPLT can make a referral or take a position as to whether a child should go to special needs school.

9.    The Extent to which a SPLT can decide how many hours a child with no adequate or meaningful support should attend. Especially when the child already has significantly reduced hours compared to his peers.

10. The extent to which a SPLT can conduct her/his work without interaction with the child. As opposed to simply observing and writing a report.

11. The extent to which a SPLT simply repeats what the school told her/him, as opposed to contemporaneous observation and own professional observations in real time.

12. The remit of the school in providing adequate and timely resources in parallel responsibilities with the local educational body.

13. The extent and timeline of a school’s preparation of an educational plan before and during their start for example, reception class.

14. Please attach relevant reports regarding diversity, disability and special needs of South Camberley inspections.

We look forward to your response.
